Effect concentrations for pentylenetetrazole and abamectin that are expected to provoke hyperactivity and hypoactivity, respectively. Bars show the magnitude of the effect concentrations which represents lowest effect concentrations as deduced from each study. When there is no bar, it indicates no effect observed within the tested concentration range. When two different bars are depicted for one study, it indicates effect concentrations for both hypo- and hyperactivity. The text written on top of each bar represents the behavioral test method while the numbers represents the exposure duration (hpf). References for each study can also be found in Additional file 2: Excel sheet 3
